The world’s largest indoor ski-resort is about to open in Shanghai and it is humungous. The building behemoth will be called Wintastar Shanghai and will size up to 227,000 m2. The building is said to have been build on inspiration from European ski resorts, the Alps and icebergs. It is the real estate development firm KOP Limited that is behind the project that is meant to meet the explosive demand for skiing in China leading up to the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022. As always the Chinese Government aren’t messing around with their investment in winter sports. Plans worth an astounding £169 billion have been revealed telling the world a story of hundreds of new ski resorts opening up around the country in the next four years. Of course the Wintastar Shanghai complex will include aprés ski related venues such as bars and restaurants.
Perhaps it’s time for OFF PISTE BAR to enter the Far Eastern markets?
