It’s time to put out five good reasons to why Zell am See-Kaprun will continue to be a go-to resort for passionate skiers seeking challenging pistes and powder, great dining and vibrant aprés ski and night life.

  1. The variety

One of the top things about Zell am See-Kaprun, two ski towns connected by one ski pass, is that there is something for everyone. Regardless if it is your first time on skis or if you’re stomping 5 m drops in the off piste there is something for you. Families and backflippers all unite on two extensive mountains – the Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn – which ensures a fun and creative holiday.

  1. The glacier

There is no doubt that it is the glacier, Kitzsteinhorn, that makes Zell am See-Kaprun a world class ski resort. By offering snow from October to May, seemingly endless freeskiing lines, a large number of steep pistes and three snow parks it is the ultimate mountain for any skier or snowboarder with ambition.

  1. The connections

There has been major investments in the lifts connecting the ski resorts in Zell am See-Kaprun. These includes the K-onnection from Kaprun to Kitzsteinhorn, a €81 million project which will be ready in the winter 2020, and enables skiers to go straight from their hotel to the glacier top thus being able to avoid overly crowded ski buses. Money has also been invested in connecting the local mountain Schmittenhöhe and Saalbach-Hinterglemm via the zellamseeXpress lift. When the second of the two lifts ss up and running in 2019 Zell am See-Kaprun will in effect be a part of the largest ski area in Europe.

  1. The quality dining

Restaurants in Zell am See-Kaprun take pride in holding high standards. Catering to a large variety of clientele most dining venues can be enjoyed regardless of how deep your pockets are. Two of the best ranked restaurants on TripAdvisor are Deins und Meins, a family run Austrian eatery spedialized in steaks, and Brasserie Traube, an asian inspired restaurant run by an exentric Swede.

  1. The aprés ski revival

Zell am See-Kaprun is a classic aprés ski resort with a long history of boot dancing and shot-skiing. After a few years of status quo on the aprés scene the new bar concept OFF PISTE BAR is re-writing the aprés ski map with the two tag lines “Always Live” and “For Skiers – By Skiers”. By offering live music every day throughout the whole winter in a modern, mountain-inspired environment OFF PISTE BAR is aiming at becoming the obvious go-to place for all skiers and boarders wanting to celebrate their winter holiday.
